The NBA's new trend

There seems to be a new trend in the NBA. It was recently started by the King (no not you Ida sorry man). The King I am referring to is King Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who just a week and a half ago agreed to a 5 yr 80 million dollar deal. One day James wakes up and decides that he doesn’t want this 5 yr deal, so he changes that 5 yr deal to a 3ry deal. I guess this is kind of a classy move by Lebron. In essence he is giving 18 mil back to the Caves for them to do whatever they want with it. This wouldn’t be that weird of a situation if Lebron was the only one doing but he’s not alone. Fellow youngster Dewayne Wade of the NBA Champion Miami Heat has decided to follow in the Lebron’s footsteps and sign a similar three year deal with the Heat. Before I go into the whole analysis of this new trend, let me first off explain what this contract language is. The three year deal that Lebron and D-Wade have decided to sign states that there is a player option for the 4th year.

Analysis: As I already stated this appears to be a new trend in the NBA. This so called trend in my opinion really benefits the team, because it gives back money that would otherwise be put into the 5 year contract.

Those are my thoughts for now, stay tuned for more,
